Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! To all our family, we miss you, we love you and thank you for all your continued care. This year we had a very low key Thanksgiving, perhaps the last "low key" holiday we will EVER have!

All three babies are doing great. Adelaide is eating VERY well and is probably the first NICU baby to be put on a “diet.” She is limited to a certain amount of food per feeding because she will literally eat until she spits up, she does not stop (just like a certain black pug we all know and love)! She continues to gain weight and is tipping the scales at 3lbs 10.3oz.

Jackson is also eating really well. He is a little bit slower but takes about 15 minutes to finish eating where Addie takes 8 minutes. He does manage to eat and keep down more food than her. He is trying desperately to catch Carter in weight and he just might do it weighing in at 4lbs 5.9oz. He failed his car seat test but will retake it again tomorrow (this is part of the discharge process and is commonly failed and retaken, nothing really to be alarmed about).

Carter is eating better and better every day. He struggles to keep his heart rate constant so that must be resolved before he comes home. This is apparently a symptom that many preemies have and overcome with age. He seems to be a little bit overwhelmed with the whole suck, swallow, breathe process sometimes so our Neonatologist added a thickening substance to his food to make it slow down a bit (more like a milk shake). He is weighing in at 4lbs 7.5oz.

We have so much to be thankful for this year. Of course we are thankful for our three babies and their continued improvement. We are especially thankful for all the help, support, prayers, and love from all of you.
