This summer the kids are taking some pretty serious swim lessons. They go twice a week for a month. So far it is going quite well and they seem to be excited to attend (and report how well they did afterwords). I appreciate that this swim school will "push" them a bit and test their abilities within reason.
Fathers Day weekend, we got to go on a date night while the kids stayed at church for "Parent's Night Out." We had a very nice dinner and enjoyed some time without three kiddos fighting for our attention.
When we arrived back at church, there was a firetruck out front and all the kids were outside. Apparently someone tried to make popcorn and set off the smoke detector. Thankfully Parent's Night Out is held at the church Pre-school and all the teachers are well trained and evacuated without a hitch.
Our sweet Jack was all smiles and fun until about halfway home when he burst into tears. He was very concerned and scared with what would happen at our house if there was a fire. So after arriving home, Paul and I walked them around and showed them where the smoke detectors and fire
extinguishers were. This little incident sent that poor boy over the edge. It may be time to visit a fire station again.
