Featured Child...Carter Jarman

Today is Carter's day.  It is almost like he knew that he would be featured on the blog today, because Carter sat up by himself for the first time last night!  Despite being the youngest (by 2 and 4 minutes), Carter is our biggest child.  He generally outweighs Jackson by 1-2lbs.  You can tell when you pick him up that he is just bigger than his siblings.  Carter is a FLIRT.  When he smiles he gets this twinkle in his eye that just makes you giggle.  He is not discerning as to who he smiles at either, I have caught him flirting with ladies on TV before!

Carter has darker blonde/brown hair.  It seems to be lightest right after a bath.  He has by far the most hair and we can give him an awesome mohawk!  Carter, like Addie and Jack, has deep blue eyes but with darker lashes.  Carter is a very eager eater.  When the spoon heads his way, he opens wide.  Sometimes his tongue gets in the way and the bite he just took comes right back out.  Therefore, he is a messy eater. 

Carter LOVES to kick. He has learned that if he moves his legs at the same time he can really get his bouncy chair going. He enjoys the exercaucer and jumparoo as well. Often when you pick him up or put him in your lap he will want to kick his legs. He is really close to crawling.  It would not be surprising for him to crawl first.  Carter generally figures out motor skills 2-4 weeks before Jackson and 2-6 weeks before Addie.  He rolled over first and now loves to be on his tummy for playtime and sleep time. 

Carter is our big sleeper.  He generally sleeps more than Jack and Addie.  Last Saturday Jack and Addie woke up first so I got them and we hung out in the living room.  Finally Jack had reached his limit and let me know he was very hungry.  So I yelled up at Paul to get out of bed and come down.  As he groggily walked down from our bedroom I picked up Carter.  They both had identical looks of pure sleepiness on their faces... like looking back into time for Paul.  Carter is Paul's mini-me!  Carter is a happy boy and generally in a great mood, he loves to cuddle with us and we love to cuddle with him!
