New Hat

What a big weekend we had!  Friday afternoon Paul and I took Jack to his appointment to finally get his Doc Band.  Paul's mom took Addie and Carter to her house which is actually near where his appointment was.  Jack did great, didn't phase him a bit.  I don't even know if he realized it was on (in the picture above he has maybe had it on for 3 minutes). 

After his appointment we loaded up all the kids and headed to Al and Bev's country club for some splash time and dinner.  The triplets had so much fun splashing in kids pool and they were so well behaved eating their dinner in the grill area.  Needless to say the car ride home was very quiet! 

Saturday, Carter and I went on a date.  We ate lunch and went shopping.  Carter had not gotten any mommy and me time in a while.  Jack has physical therapy every week (which is a lot like play time) and Addie always goes to showers with me so it was Carter's turn! 

Jack and I also went to my friend Karee's to get his helmet personalized.  She did such an awesome job and it looks like a work of art.  She free hand painted it in an hour, that girl is SO talented!  Jack also showed me a new trick Saturday...he stood without holding onto anything for around 5 seconds.  He of course promptly fell, but I can see the future and it scares me! 

To cap of the his big weekend Jack decided to add a second word to his vocabulary...he said "Dada."  Not just once, several times!  He was the first to say "Mama" so it stands to reason that he would be the first to say "Dada."  Now let me be clear, none of them have a clue who or what they are referring to when they say anything, it is just fun for us to hear!

We had a great weekend and are SO proud of Jack and how well he has adapted to his helmet.  Addie and Carter have barely noticed it either.  Jack wears the Doc Band 23 hours a day so he sleeps in it. Now that would really bother most adults, but Jack did just fine!  It is amazing how tolerant kids can be!
