Happy 4th of July!

Yesterday we celebrated our freedom and those who have fought to preserve it. Of course our kids had no concept of why we were celebrating...maybe next year.

We started the day with dad making an All-American breakfast of eggs and bacon. Then we all dressed in our red, white, and blue and played outside. We made a trip to our new Trader Joe's (pleasantly surprised at how smooth that want) to get stuff for me to make a homemade apple crisp!

After the kids woke up from their short naps (they were very excited) we headed to DeeDee and Poppy's to swim.

After swimming, grilling, and eating we were all wiped out! The kids were almost asleep when we got home at 7:15! We actually have a great view of fireworks from our front yard, but Paul and I were already in bed...days off can be so exhausting.
