Weekend Switch

We are doing something different and fun at our house.  For three weekends we have scheduled time with both sets of grandparents to separate the kids.  On Friday afternoon we meet both DeeDee and BeeBee at school and each one takes a child, leaving us with just one.  Saturday evening we all re-convene and talk about how much fun we had!

We are now two weeks in and have to take a weekend off due to several conflicts in schedule.  So here is the recap of the first two weekends (forgive the long post).

Week 1

Addie went and stayed with DeeDee & Poppy out "in the country."  They swam, cooked out, went exploring and visited Uncle Lance and his drums.  Adelaide woke up at 6:45am after some trouble sleeping and took roughly a 2 hour nap.

Jack went and stayed with BeeBee and Papaw "in the city."  They swam, went out to eat, ate donuts and visited the zoo.  Jack slept until 8am and took a 3 hour nap!

Carter stayed with us the first week at the house.  We took him to dinner, went to Uncle Lance's to play drums, went to a friend's birthday party and watched golf with Daddy.  Carter slept until 7:45am and took a 3 hour nap.

All our kids love to play Lance's drums.  Sweet Aunt Whitney even had some bubbles and a ball waiting for him!

He was SO excited to go get donuts with Daddy.  I asked if I could go...he said no.

Week 2

Adelaide stayed with us at our house.  We took her to dinner, went to Trader Joe's, I took her to Starbucks, we went shopping at the mall and had lunch and Paul took her to Costco.  She woke up at 6:45am after waking up and getting sick around 2:30am and napped for 2 hours.

Starbucks has donuts too!  She was obviously fine the next morning.

Jack stayed with DeeDee and Poppy "in the country."  They swam, cooked out, mowed the lawn, cleaned the lawn mower and played drums at Uncle Lance's.  Jack slept until 8:00am and took a 4 hour nap!

Carter went to BeeBee and Papaw's house "in the city."  They went to the club (per his request) and swam, ate outside, got donuts and went to the aquarium.  Carter slept until 9:00am and had to be woken up from his 3 hour nap.

So one more weekend to go with our little experiment.  I am sure you are noticing a trend with the sleeping...we will see if it is the same next time!
