In the past we have spent time with Papaw's side of the family either on Christmas Day or the day after Christmas. This year the family switched it up a little bit and we went for a weekend down in Comfort, Texas. So last Friday Paul and I took off half a day at work and got the kids a little early from school. We got in the car and drove about five hours south. The weather was kind of crummy going down but luckily it cleared up and Saturday was a beautiful day.
The kids enjoyed playing the antique piano, checking out the nearby river, playing with their cousins Erin and Alex, looking at baby Cami (but NOT touching her), eating the yummy food and hanging out with their Mamaw.
There were 28 family members housed in the big bed and breakfast that we stayed at. The kids did not seem to sleep all that well therefore Paul and I did not sleep all that well. But they were pretty well behaved and luckily didn't break any of the nice things in the house!
We did figure out that our sweet little Addie Mae they can talk for five hours straight. Poor Carter just wanted to sleep while we were driving and she just kept talking and talking and talking... I'm trying to remember why we taught her to talk!
