Well, as much of you reading already know, North Texas got hit with a pretty good ice/snow storm. The high temperatures have been in the 20s, almost unheard of for us. It all started Tuesday early morning when we got some rain, that turned into sleet around 4am then snow a few hours later. It all stopped by 9 or 10 am, but the damage was done. Our roads are coated in a sheet of 1/2 inch to an inch of ice then a dusting of snow. Snow would not be so bad, it is that darn ice!
The front of our house. We can't open our front storm door because the sleet/snow drifted up against it then froze solid. Paul worked on it for a little bit but with the wind chill right at 0 degrees, we decided we can just as easily go out the back!
As you can see, pretty much everything is covered. Don't let that sun fool you, it was VERY cold outside (by the way this was about the only time the sun was out all week).
Our little pier and beam house has struggled to stay warm. Our thermostat said 60 degrees on Tuesday morning. Luckily we got a space heater as a baby gift last year and that thing just churns out the heat and has its own thermostat to keep the temperature in the nursery comfortable. We have two other space heaters we move with us to keep our room or the living room somewhat warm, but it has been an uphill battle. We are keeping the triplets in their warmest clothes, Tuesday was a PJ day and Wednesday was all about layers!
These cute sweatshirts are from my cousin Tim and his family. Leave it to my Minnesota family to make sure we have plenty of warm clothes!
Sweet jack has no body fat, we worry that he will get cold quickly (plus with all his moment he must burn energy fast)!
Carter and daddy both had grey sweatshirts on with their hoods up, triplets thought daddy in a hood was pretty funny.
