Today, Good Friday, the triplets turn 18 months old. A LOT has changed in the last 6 months. Everyone is expert walkers, Addie still walks on her toes some but seems to walk flat footed much more. They have begun to comprehend words like "share," "bye," and "sad." We are of course working on that "share" word a lot. They can all say the following words (but we may be the only ones who understands them):
- Mama
- Dada (by far the most popular word)
- Nana (for Nanny Kelly)
- Paw (could go for either grandpa, Papaw or Poppy)
- Dog (followed by panting and quite barking, sounds like dou-gggg, as if they have a deep drawl)
- Shoes (mostly sounds like shhhs)
- Shhhhh (and put finger to mouth, think from Good Night Moon the Old Lady Wispering "hush")
- Jack (some say it more like jaa)
- Dee (which seems to be the overall consensus for Ahhh-deee)
- Ter (which seems to be what Car-ter will become)
- Nor (Norm)
A few fun things going on in our house:
- We have started to eat with a fork, and fairly successfully
- We carry our own backpacks each week to Sunday School
- We no longer take milk before bed
- We have lots of teeth (Jack=12, Carter=10, Addie=8)
- Carter can tell us when he has a dirty diaper
- We are skilled and answering "no" when we don't want something
- Addie and Jack LOVE ice cream, Carter tells us "no"
- We are down to one good nap a day (the goal is for 3 hours and they often meet that)
- We can climb on the couch in our room but not the one in the living room yet
- We are expert stair climbers...not so much at coming down
- The boys love to give Addie and each other hugs and kisses...Addie will sometimes hug and kiss, but it is much more rare
So, how do you get three toddlers together to take a picture...you let them play in a laundry basket. I love you three more than you could ever know. You are a blessing from God. Happy 18 month birthday!
